Parker joined our family the Christmas of 2004. We had adopted him from our local Humane League, after the loss of our son's sweet little girl cat. We were immediately all drawn to his striking black and white coloring. After visiting with him in the "Get Acquainted Room" for only a short period of time, his warm and social personality became the attraction and he had captured our hearts. The Humane League had named him "Parker" and somehow it just seemed to suit him perfectly. It only took a few days to discover how social he really was. Parker loves to sit in the window at the front of our home and keep watch. As soon as he sees anyone approaching the front door, he quickly runs to greet them. Once inside our home, Parker immediately stands on his hind legs with front arms extended and waving to be picked up by all. Later, we would discover his name means "Keeper of the Park", but anyone who has visited our home has discovered he is the friendly, "Keeper of the Door". It is almost impossible to enter our home, without Parker becoming part of your heart too.
